肯代尔大学宣布增设酒水管理专业并与西贝尔技术学院合作














        芝加哥(2013年2月25日),肯代尔大学一直致力于为学生提供值得信赖的酒水管理培训。为了更好地实现这一目标,肯代尔大学很高兴宣布在酒店管理学院增设一门新专业酒水管理(Beverage Management),并与西贝尔技术学院(Siebel Institute of Technology)建立新的合作关系。Siebel Institute会搬到即将配备现代酒水设施的校区,位于芝加哥900 N North Branch Street街道的肯代尔大学教学楼1层。内含Siebel的企业办公室、教学大厅、酿酒厂以及著名的Bier Stube餐厅,在那里学生可以学习管理酒水业务的艺术。

从四月份开始,肯代尔大学酒店管理学院将会提供新专业酒水管理的6门新课程:
•    Introduction to Wines, Beer and Spirits  葡萄酒、啤酒和含酒精饮料简介
•    Intermediate Wines  中性酒
•    Advanced Wine Knowledge  高级酒类知识
•    The Business of Beverage Management  酒水管理业务
•    Beer and Fermentation  啤酒和发酵
•    Spirits and Mixology  含酒精饮料和调酒学

       学习本专业的学生也将有机会选修课程,如“行业发展阶段”和“实地考察和亲身体验”课程,其中学生在进入高年级学习之前有一个到国际知名地区(法国、德国、瑞士、智利或澳大利亚)品味葡萄酒、文化和技巧的8天旅行。

       肯代尔大学校长Emily Williams Knight表示:“我们的酒水管理新专业的发展是为了满足行业对接受过酒水教育人士的需求。对于之前提供的课程我们感到极度自豪,也期望在未来与Siebel Institute合作开展其它的附加课程。我们相信有了这个新专业和与Siebel的合作,我们将一如既往保持酒水管理培训领导者的前沿地位。”

       肯代尔开设新专业以及与Siebel发展新关系时,正值餐厅行业继续获得极好的增长。根据美国劳动统计局(U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics)的数据,在过去13年里,餐饮工作的数量增加了25%,而美国就业率只上涨了4%,这使得潜在的工作申请者获得培训应聘这些有竞争力的职位变得尤为必要。

Kendall College Announces Beverage Management Concentration, Partnershipwith Siebel Institute

CHICAGO (February 25, 2013) – Kendall College is committed to providing responsiblebeverage management training for students. As part of this commitment, Kendallis pleased to announce a new concentration in the School of Hospitality  Management, Beverage Management, as well as a newrelationship with Siebel Institute of Technology. The SiebelInstitute will be moving their campus to a soon-to-be constructed modernbeverage facility located on the first floor of KendallCollege’s building at 900 N North Branch Streetin Chicago. Itwill house Siebel’s corporate offices, a teaching hall, brewery and famous BierStube, a space where students can learn the art of managing a beveragebusiness.

Starting in April, the Kendall College School of Hospitality Management will beoffering six new courses as part of a new BeverageManagement concentration, including:
•    Introduction to Wines, Beer and Spirits
•    Intermediate Wines
•    Advanced Wine Knowledge
•    The Business of Beverage Management
•    Beer and Fermentation
•    Spirits and Mixology

Students pursuing this concentration will also have the opportunity to takeoptional courses including “Industry Stages” and an “Excursion and Immersion”course, which includes an eight-day trip prior to the students’ senior year toan internationally renowned wine growing region to understand the wine, cultureand techniques, such as France, Germany, Switzerland, Chile or Australia.

“The development of our new Beverage Management concentration is in response tothe demand for beverage education within the industry,” said Emily WilliamsKnight, president of Kendall College. “We are proud ofour initial course offerings and look forward to developing additional coursesfor the concentration in the future in partnership with the Siebel Institute.We feel confident that with our new concentration and through our partnershipwith Siebel, we will remain at the forefront of training leaders in responsiblebeverage management.”

Kendall’s new concentration and newrelationship with Siebel comes at a time when the restaurant industry continuesto see tremendous growth. During the past 13 years, the number of food andbeverage jobs jumped 25 percent, compared to total U.S employment whichincreased by four percent, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics,making it essential for potential job candidates to be trained and qualifiedfor these competitive positions.
