肯代尔大学酒店管理学院（Kendall College School of Hospitality Management）教授Glen C. Ramsborg（博士，CMP），被选为2012年认证会议专业人员（CMP，CertifiedMeeting Professionals）董事会（Board of Directors）新任副主席，他将为提升会议和会展行业水平做出贡献。
作为副主席服务一年后，Ramsborg将成为CMP董事会2013年至2014年的主席。

Ramborg作为专业会议管理协会（PCMA，ProfessionalConvention Management Association）的代表在CMP董事会服务3年，3月份，他被CMP董事会任命为有史以来的第一位学术联络人（Academic Liaison），在董事会做决定时代表学术界。
他也是公认实践交换（APEX，Accepted Practices Exchange）标准审查委员会（Standards Review Council）的成员，3月份时结束了3年的工作。
那时候，他在2011年1月发布的新APEX行业词汇表的重新定义过程中发挥了关键作用。APEX公认实践是由会议、展览行业为了规范统一行业实践而设计的标准。Ramsborg博士和其他16位委员会成员一起将词汇表从原来的4000词精简到1500词。
在2009年作为酒店管理学院教授加入肯代尔大学之前，Ramsborg曾在PCMA担任教育资深指导。
那时他担任PCMA专业会议管理（公认为行业最重要的教科书）第5期的行政编辑，他还开发了为行业专业人士获得认证会议专业人士（CMP）资格做准备的第一个也是最全面的网上项目。
PCMA于2003年授予他“年度教育家”的称号。他也是一家多元管理和教育咨询公司Ramsborg集团有限公司（The Ramsborg Group Ltd.）的总裁。

Kendall College School of Hospitality Management ProfessorGlen C. Ramsborg, Ph.D., CMP, has been elected as the new vice chair of theCertified Meeting Professionals (CMP) Board of Directors for 2012 where he willserve as a voice in upholding the standards of the meeting and event industry.
After serving for a year as vice chair, Ramsborg will proceedto the role of chair of the CMP Board for 2013-2014.

Ramsborg will enter the vice chair position with theexperience and vision to increase the depth of knowledge that meetingprofessionals have and need in order to obtain their CMP. He will also provideinsight to academia to better prepare students to meet CMP qualifications whenthey enter the workforce.
Ramborg’s election to vice chair and chair speaks to hisdistinguished career in the meeting and event management industry and academiaover the last quarter century.
After serving on the CMP Board as the Professional ConventionManagement Association (PCMA) representative for three years, he was appointedto the first-ever Academic Liaison position by the CMP Board in March, where herepresents the academic community in decisions made by the Board.
He also served a three-year term as a member of the AcceptedPractices Exchange (APEX) Standards Review Council, which he completed in March.
During that time, he was a key player in redefining the newlyreleased APEX Industry Glossary, issued in January 2011. The APEX AcceptedPractices are standards designed by the meetings, conventions and exhibitionsindustry in order to streamline business practices. Dr. Ramsborg worked with 16other committee members to condense the glossary from 4,000 to 1,500 terms.
Before joining KendallCollege as a professor in the School of Hospitality Management in 2009, Ramsborgworked as senior director, education, for the PCMA.
In this role, he served as the executive editor of the fifthedition of PCMA’s Professional Meeting Management, recognized as the industry’spremier textbook, and developed the first and most comprehensive online programfor industry professionals preparing for the Certified Meeting Professional(CMP) designation.
