Katie Simmons:健身教练,私人教练、厨师

















       我们平均每天要花9小时,每周40小时,一生大约94000小时的时间工作。工作、家庭、朋友和我们的健康保持平衡变得越来越难!厨师、健身教练和私人教练KatieSimmons,有一些如何健身保持健康的建议。
       Katie刚从肯代尔大学毕业,她已经从事教书、教练和烹饪10年。她表示:“当我在做全日制私人教练时,我就开始为其他人烹饪。刚开始时我在特殊会展和每周食谱活动中担任私人厨师烹饪,服务那些喜爱健康食物的顾客。”目前,Katie在林肯公园Whole FoodsMarket Wellness Club工作,监管食谱开发和测试待售菜品。这个项目会向人们传达如何正确饮食和锻炼的信息。她也为Whole Foods MarketSupper Clubs的每晚晚餐服务计划和测试菜单。她还提到:“我们的目标是用plant-strong天然食物饮食为人们打下健康饮食的基础。”自从Katie自己的饮食换成含有更多蔬菜的菜单后,她减了30英镑,获得了更多的能量!她表示锻炼客户和帮助他们正确饮食这种方法已经“发展成客户对美食的狂热,但是同时他们不用受到因为自己过分放纵饮食而带来的困扰。” 















       尤其是在节假日,和家人在一起、参加节日派对会使人更加容易放纵自己。时间紧张?她解释道:“锻炼可以在任何地方和任何时间进行。”Katie想要Cheeky读者知道重要的是找到对你有用的锻炼方式。想要更多的能量?到外面散散步。想要心情愉悦和精神抖擞?在家里做一些伸展运动或瑜伽。想要更有力量?上一节肌肉锻炼课。Katie通过在Equinox Gyms 和Lakeview Athletic Club进行健康舞(Cardio Kick)、Tabata间隔训练法、力量和球芯锻炼课程,来保持人们的身体健康。
 
       她提醒那些每天锻炼超过1小时的人,不要跳过碳水化合物这一环节。食用复合碳水化合物是为了增加能量供你锻炼。食用天然食物可以使她8分钟连续跑完1英里,而不需要补充更多的食物或含糖运动饮料。“合理饮食就是良药。它比健身重要多了,合理饮食会对我们的健康、体重、能量水平和每天的感觉造成重大影响。”

Katie Simmons: Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer and Chef

We spend an average ofeight hours a day, 40 hours a week and some 94,000 hours of our lifetime at work. Finding balance between work, family, friends and our health can gettougher and tougher! Chef, Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer, KatieSimmons, has some tips on how to do it all and stay healthy.
A recent graduate ofculinary school, Kendall College, Katie has been teaching, training and cooking for ten years. “I started cooking for otherpeople while working full-time as a personal trainer. I started by doingpersonal chef cooking and catering for clients who wanted healthier options,both for special events and weekly meals,” she says. Katie now works at the Lincoln Park Whole Foods Market Wellness Club whereshe oversees recipe development and testing for sale. This program educatespeople on how to eat and work out right. She also plans and tests menus forWhole Foods Market Supper Clubs, a nightly meal service. “We aim to get back tothe foundation of healthy eating with a plant-strongwhole-foodsdiet,” she notes. Since Katie herself changed to a more plant-based diet, shehas lost 30 pounds and gained incredible energy! By training her clients andhelping them eat right, she says it “evolved into a full-fledged passion forthe love of delicious food without feeling guilty from overindulgence.”
Especially around theholidays, it’s so easy with family functions and holiday parties tooverindulge. 

Time-crunched? “Workouts can happen anywhere and anytime,” sheexplains. Katie wants Cheeky readers to know that it’s all about finding aworkout that speaks to you. “Want to feel energized? Go for a walk outside.What to feel open and lifted? Do some stretching or yoga at home. Want to feelpowerful? Take a muscle definition class. Katie keeps Cheeky fit by kickingbutt in her Cardio Kick, Tabata, Strength and Cardio Core Ball classes at Equinox Gymsand at Lakeview AthleticClub.
For people who work outmore than an hour a day, she reminds us to not skip the carbohydrates. Complexcarbohyrdates are to be eaten as fuel for your workouts. Eating whole, naturalfoods keeps her running eight-minute miles without needing more food or sugarysports drinks to keep her going. “Diet is your medicine. More important thanfitness, diet has a huge impact on our health, your weight, your energy leveland how you feel daily.”
